I’m Audrey, and I like to cook. In an effort to improve my skills, and to try out  recipes and techniques that I might not otherwise have a chance to, I’ve decided to host a dinner party for ten every month in 2009. I hope that as I get better at this, (and buy more flatware and plates and, um, chairs,) the dinners will increase in complexity and deliciousness. Given that I’m a home cook and not that experienced, I expect major failures to ensue.

The parameters: I cook in my small Brooklyn kitchen, and serve in my small Brooklyn apartment. I try and eat each course with my guests, without a big break in between. I’m trying to cook to the seasons as much as possible, just because what’s in season usually tastes best. Oh yeah, and I don’t eat land animals. I know, boo hiss, bad food nerd. Sorry.

So if you’re into seeing how these things come together, come along with me. I’m calling them Flavor of the Month. If all goes well, I can dupe my friends into showing up for 12 of these. Let’s see if I can pull it off.
